One of the first clients to take advantage of the new service is OurBrisbane.com, a Drupal-based website that serves 3 million page views per month. PreviousNext successfully transitioned the OurBrisbane website from a self-hosted solution to Acquia’s Managed Cloud hosting platform. Thousands of media files are also delivered from an Australian-based Content Distrbution Network (CDN) to maximise performance and speed, and PreviousNext’s Australian-based staff act as OurBrisbane’s first contact point for Acquia’s global enterprise support service.
According to PreviousNext Managing Partner, Owen Lansbury, the new service solves a fundamental problem for Australian organisations with high traffic Drupal websites.
“Many of our clients were attracted to the idea of hosting on Acquia’s high availability platform, but they were concerned about a lack of local support staff and the potential for slower speeds if their media assets were served from the cloud,” Mr Lansbury said. “Now we can offer the best of both worlds, with scalable, Drupal-optimised hosting on Acquia’s Managed Cloud combined with super-fast localised file serving and a local business hours contact for Acquia’s enterprise support network.”
“To round out the offering, PreviousNext now provides Acquia’s standardised Drupal training curriculum to upskill web teams within large organisations, who are switching to Drupal in droves from outdated, overpriced, proprietary content management systems,” Mr Lansbury said.
Acquia Chief Technology Officer and Drupal project lead, Dries Buytaert, welcomed the partnership with PreviousNext.
“After an exciting time with the PreviousNext team during my Australian visit in January, I became convinced that Australia and the Asia Pacific region are key growth areas for both Acquia and Drupal,” Buytaert said. “We’re delighted that Acquia can now offer a high performance hosting and support service in combination with Australia’s leading Drupal development firm.”
PreviousNext is the only Acquia Enterprise Select and Authorised Training Partner in Australia, and the first Drupal firm in the Asia Pacific region to earn that status.
