Bevan has worked with Drupal for the past five years, and has been a prominent figure in the Australian and New Zealand Drupal communities during that time. His work focus has always been global, and over the past few years has worked predominately with major US companies including CivicActions, NowPublic/Examiner.com and Palantir.net.
A prolific contributor to the Drupal open source project, Bevan is considered to be in the top tier of developers that drive a substantial proportion of Drupal enhancements (including the 23 modules he either maintains or has committed to). He also co-organised two DrupalSouth conferences in New Zealand.
Bevan joins PreviousNext at a time when the firm is growing strongly off the back of burgeoning Drupal adoption in Australia and enhancing it’s role as a key contributor to the Drupal community. As Managing Partner, Owen Lansbury explained “While our focus is on the Australian market, our goal is to always be building Drupal sites to world-class standards, so Bevan’s international experience was really attractive to us. We are also focused on ensuring PreviousNext contributes strongly to the Drupal community, and are seeing Bevan playing a key role in that regard”.
While Bevan will remain based in New Zealand with his young family, he will be working directly with PreviousNext’s key clients in Australia: “I considered a few exciting offers, but working with a company close to home was important to me, and PreviousNext is one of the few top-notch Drupal consultancies in this part of the world that really ‘gets it’ (i.e. Drupal). The ability to balance personal life and work on inspiring, high profile but challenging projects was also important to me. PreviousNext offers all that, and actively supports my contributions to the Drupal community and my role at the Drupal Association.”
PreviousNext can now also offer Acquia’s Drupal Training curriculum to clients in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and will be able to start evaluating Drupal development opportunities in the NZ market in general.
“We can now genuinely call ourselves an multinational Drupal firm ;-)” quipped Lansbury.
