The Drupal Association is the non-profit organisation charged with making the open-source Drupal CMS project flourish. The Association helps the Drupal community with funding, infrastructure, events, promotion and distribution. This includes the triannual Drupalcon conferences in Europe, North America and Southern Hemisphere and the management and hosting of Drupal.org, the online hub for the Drupal project and its 800,000+ members.
“The Supporting Partner program is a new chapter for the Drupal Association by providing a method for companies to solidify their commitment not only to the Association, but the Drupal community as a whole," said Jacob Redding, Executive Director of the Drupal Association. "The financial commitments made by these companies will allow us to educate more people about Drupal through more events, fund more initiatives on Drupal.org, and more consistently support our community by building better tools for collaboration on Drupal.org, and making it easier for people to find the right modules, snippets, or themes for their project. "
PreviousNext has been an Organisation Member of the Drupal Association since founding in 2009, and has been a prominent sponsor of the DrupalDownunder events held in Australia over the past couple of years. Managing Partner of PreviousNext, Owen Lansbury, explained “Drupal is heavily reliant on the strength of the community to drive the project forward, and PreviousNext has always made a very conscious effort to support this by contributing development time, community involvement and financial assistance where possible. When the Drupal Association offered us a Supporting Partner membership, we saw this as an excellent way to show our support for Drupal at a global level”.
The Supporting Partner program is backed by a who’s who of prominent global Drupal firms, including Acquia, Lullabot, Phase2 and Palantir. “We’re very proud to be the first Australian firm to make this enhanced commitment to Drupal, and view our involvement in the program as an important aspect of PreviousNext staying at the leading edge of Drupal’s growth and direction”, Lansbury concluded.
