Challenge
The first incarnation of Countdown.com.au was built a few years ago to promote a reunion concert of performers from the 70s and 80s TV show Countdown. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation engaged PreviousNext to redevelop the website so it could live beyond this event and act as a fan site for all of the archival content from the classic TV show.
Solution
PreviousNext chose Drupal as the foundation for the new Countdown site, integrating with a range of legacy sub-systems such as user statistics, email newsletter systems, banner advertising, and the ABC’s proprietary Silverlight-based video player. We also migrated 10,000 registered users from the original website so they could start contributing to the discussion forums and fan photo galleries from the moment the new site launched.
Outcome
The new Drupal-based Countdown.com.au site is now a thriving online destination for lovers of 70s and 80s pop and rock music.
