Challenge
The Library’s internal web team had decided to migrate their entire site to Drupal, and began work on a Drupal 6 prototype. Their intention was to launch with Drupal 7 and decided to seek consulting and support from PreviousNext to assist through this process.
Solution
After reviewing the Library’s requirements, PreviousNext confirmed Drupal 7 as ready to use, and were engaged to migrate the prototype to the latest Drupal release. PreviousNext also implemented a federated Apache Solr search solution across the Library’s multiple databases, and advised them on suitable hosting infrastructure for the upgraded site.
Outcome
The National Library of Australia website – now built on future-proof open source technology – is far easier for the Library’s internal team to maintain and enhance, and provides users with superior search functionality.
